At Commercial Tire, we care about keeping your family safe. So in honor of National Tire Safety Week next week, May 28-June 3, here are a few ways to make sure your tires are ready to get you where you’re going this Memorial Day weekend and all summer road trip season long.
Do Your P-A-R-T
Keeping your tires safe means doing your P-A-R-T: check your pressure, check your alignment, get your tires rotated every 6,000 miles, and keep your eye on your tread depth (with the penny test, for instance). These four things are most critical to tire performance over the long haul.
Take a Look
Spend a few minutes before any trip to visually inspect your tires for uneven wear, sidewall cracks, and other problems that could cause failure. If you see anything out of the ordinary, stop by a Commercial Tire for a quick check-up.
Drive the Speed Limit
The way you drive affects your tire longevity and performance. For instance, if you’re driving really fast and making frequent harsh stops, you’ll wind up wearing your tread down quicker than if you drive defensively at the speed limit. Think about that the next time you watch a blowout at the Indy 500.
